Worst Airport in America To Open “Coolest Hotel In Country”

by | May 23, 2019

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]One of the worst airports in the country just opened one of the coolest hotels in the country.

JFK airport in New York is often voted among the country’s worst airports. Weather delays, overcrowding and worn out equipment are just a few reasons passengers dread their time in the terminals. That is in stark contrast to its glory days when flying was actually fun.

When the airport, originally called Idlewilde, opened in 1948 it became the gateway to America. And its signature terminal was The TWA Flight Center, designed in 1962 to sit like a bewinged white U.F.O. It closed in 2001, and sat abandoned as a ghostly relic of space age architecture.

Then, in 2016, The Port Authority granted a developer the rights to restore the terminal to its former glory, as a five hundred and twelve room hotel with time traveled touches such as rotary phones in every room and a sunken bar.

Guests will be met by greeters in TWA uniforms from the sixties designed by Valentino, Lauren and Cassini. Could JFK actually be fashionable again? Time will tell.
