Working From Home
Listen Now: Working From Home
You want to work from home, your boss wants you in the office, so how do you get on the same page? I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
A lot of companies are trying to get employees back into the house, but a lot of employees are reluctant to return. If this sounds like your situation, Fortune magazine has a few ideas on how to convince your boss to embrace working remotely. First, ask for what you want. They will never say yes to something if you don’t ask. Don’t be afraid of the conversation. Besides, not saying anything at all could signal to your boss that you’re comfortable, maybe even excited, about the prospect of returning to the office. Something else to try, make it about more than just you. Chances are, a lot of your coworkers feel the same way, so frame the request using the company as a whole. To sweeten the deal, offer to help develop a remote working policy. For more advice on getting your boss to see things your way go to BanmillerOnBusiness.com. Worst they can say is no.
