The supply chain shortage is coming to the golden arches. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

McDonalds is pulling milkshakes from menus in all its twelve hundred and fifty British restaurants. The problem, a lack of truck drivers. And its not just shakes, the company is also doing away with bottled drinks because there is no one to deliver them. In a statement the company says it is working hard to return the items to the menu but didn’t have a lot of options to get them to customers. And it’s not just the pandemic causing problems, Brexit is also up there on the list of culprits. Britain’s exit from the European union at the end of last year has made it hard for people to work in the UK. Couple that with people having to self-isolate and preventing people from being trained and getting on the road and there are a lot of delivery trucks sitting idle. And it’s not just McDonalds paying the price. The chicken chain Nando’s and KFC have also shut down and pulled items because of supply issues. And no one is loving it. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
