Listen Now: The Polar Express: Florida Gets A Real-Life Train Attraction
The holiday season is hitting the rails.
The Polar Express is a story about a skeptical little boy who boards a magical train on Christmas Eve and finds himself heading to the North Pole to see Santa. When the boy arrives, Santa says he can have any gift he wants. So, he asks for a bell from the harness of a reindeer so he never forgets his adventure.
Now that experience is coming to a Florida track. Florida’s Brightline Polar Express, soon to be part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Trains USA, is a one-hour journey just like the story. Pajama-clad families board in Miami or Fort Lauderdale and head straight to Santa’s workshop.
The rails cars are filled with decorated christmas trees, lights and wrapped presents. Guests are served up hot chocolate and cookies from dancing chefs.
Tickets go on sale this weekend and then run through December 29th. They cost between $50-75, depending on date, time, and what station you leave from. It’s a trip to see santa that everyone in the family can enjoy.
