The Next Decade
Listen Now: The Next Decade
How we work is changing, and the next few years could change the entire landscape. I’m Brian Banmiller On Business.
Recently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics shared a new jobs report and it’s not pretty. According to TheLadders.com there will be rapid changes that stunt employment growth, roles eliminated and even more people who leave the workforce. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the active workforce is expected to drop to 60.4% in 2030, mainly because so many baby boomers are set to retire. Some industries will see growth, mainly low-paying jobs such as home health or personal care aides. Technology and clean energy will also see growth in the next few years. Another change being predicted? Fewer CEO’s. Organizations are undergoing a lot of changes when it comes to how they are structured. Companies are run by larger operations which means the in-house hierarchy will become outdated. When it comes to the number of jobs available, that is also expected to drop with only about 12 million jobs being added by 2030. not much to look forward to. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
