The McRib is back and it’s gone digital. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

The McRib, a generous helping of pork slathered in barbeque sauce, plopped on a soft bun and topped with pickles and slivered onions. A cult classic that pops into our lives annually. This year, the sandwich is turning 40, and McDonald’s is celebrating by turning it into an NFT or non-fungible token. In short, an NFT is a certificate of ownership for a digital asset. So, you can own it, without really owning it. For a chance to win a McRib NFT you have until the end of the week to retweet the invitation from McDonald’s twitter account. Then by November 12 McDonald’s will choose ten people to receive the exclusive McRib NFT to add to their personal collection. And while some NFT’s such as Jack Dorsey’s first tweet sold for millions, the golden arches is offering up the McRib digital asset for just $20 each. You should also avoid getting your hopes up over getting rich off this investment because the value will vary. But at least you will always have a McRib. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
