Need a break from reality? Consider island life.
If life has you down, Bermuda has an offer for you: one year on the beach. The British territory of sixty-four thousand people is rich with pink sand beaches, clear blue water and warm climate. Plus, with less than two hundred cases of COVID-19, it can be a safe haven.
The island’s premier says Bermuda was able to contain the spread through testing, quarantine-monitoring bracelets, and rules about social distancing and masks. He says unlike places where you worry about going to the store or the bank, the island has very clear rules to keep people safe and keep things running.
Plus, with many companies allowing employees to work remotely you can make money while enjoying what most people call a vacation — with a one-year work visa. The premier says the offer is a win for everyone. Visitors get to relax, go to the beach and enjoy a quiet life. The island gets a boost from people shopping, buying supplies or getting a job.
While the offer only lasts a year, there are worse places to wait out a pandemic.
