Tesla is recalling thousands of cars; over something most people do every day. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Tesla is recalling more than 50,000 cars because of software that allows some models to come to a rolling stop. Basically, a brief pause at intersections and stop signs. The models in question include some 2016 to 2022 model S and X, 2017 to 2022 model 3 and 2020 to 2022 model Y vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says Tesla will perform an over-the-air software update to disable the “rolling stop” function. Tesla addressed the issue on twitter writing “there were no safety issues” and the car “simply slowed to two miles per hour and continued forward if there was a clear view with no cars or pedestrians.” but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration disagreed saying federal law prohibits selling any cars that pose an unreasonable risk to safety, including intentional design choices that are unsafe. This isn’t the only issue the feds have with Tesla. There are open investigations into the Passenger Play feature and Autopilot system as well.  Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
