Business owners have to make many decisions, but that doesn’t normally include vaccinations. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Right now, state governments are deciding who can be vaccinated and when. In most cases, priority has been given to health workers, first responders, and the elderly. In some cases, employees such as restaurant workers in new york are also eligible. But when the vaccine becomes more mainstream, business owners will need to decide just what their vaccine policy will be.  And some are wrestling with the idea of whether to require it at all. If they do, they have to be ready for some pushback from workers. Under guidelines from the equal employment opportunity commission, employers can require staffers to be vaccinated. Exemptions are made for people with medical conditions or those who object for religious reasons. But if not protected, refusing a vaccine could cost your job. The employer has the obligation to keep the workplace safe and protected. Experts suggest coming up with a companywide policy and making everyone aware of it. Address individual concerns and don’t single anyone out. And hopefully, we all get back to business. Brian Banmiller, CBS news.
