Sony is getting in on the digital world. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
First there were long lines and sold-out signs everywhere for the Playstation 5. And now there’s a new gadget in town. Sony has unveiled the final design for the new PlaystationVR2 headset and critics are already impressed. The headset looks like an orb designed to give users a three hundred and sixty degree feel when using the headset. Designers also say it’s round because of the amount of human contact when using the headset, similar to the controller of the Playstation 5. And here’s the catch, you will need a Playstation 5 to use the headset. So far, no official release date or price which might be frustrating to fans but as with most gaming systems there will likely be a mad dash and a long wait to get your hands on one. This reveal comes as companies are ramping up competition in the digital world. Apple is expected to launch its own VR headset later this year and Meta is banking on its headset and the Metaverse.
