Job interviews come with many questions, and there are a few that should raise a red flag. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
One of the most important things a job interview should answer, and also one of the hardest, is whether a potential employee will fit in with the culture. Will they get along with people? Do they hold similar values to the company? Unfortunately this is hard to figure out so some employers have been getting a little creative with their interview questions. And according to the project management platform Hive.com two of these sorts of questions should make you turn down any offer. The first, tell us a funny story. This is only meant to put you on the spot and make you feel awkward. A sense of humor is nice, but that should come through in normal conversation not a prompt. The other, tell me about your background outside of your work history. This can tap into the interviewer’s unconscious biases. And in some cases, can lead you to be discriminated against depending on how you answer. Some jobs just aren’t worth it. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
