You know what you like, and now Netflix wants to know it too. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Netflix is launching a new ratings option that will give the company insight into the kind of TV shows or movies you like. If you like something, just give it two thumbs up. The company says it’s a throwback to the trademark seal of approval from famed Movie Critics Siskel and Ebert. According to variety, the new ratings option will appear next to the current thumbs up and thumbs down buttons. The company says members wanted an option between something they just liked and something they really love. The two thumbs up is designed to make the distinction crystal clear. That way if you give something a two thumbs up rating, you will see even more shows or films along the same wavelength offered up to you. Right now, the company doesn’t expect to add a double thumbs down rating. They say that’s because the single thumbs down is not used that often. Instead, if people don’t like a show, they just stop watching it. And that’s a pretty direct message. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
