Pie Tops

by | Apr 3, 2018

Pie TopsPizza Hut is cooking up a new delivery method; your shoes.

For the second straight year the pizza chain is rolling out its pie tops, a marketing stunt featuring a pair of hi-top sneakers that you can use to order a pizza. And now they will even pause your TV so you can go to the door and pick up your pie.

The shoes, which cost one hundred and fifty dollars come in two colors: wheat like the crust and red like the sauce. Both shoes have a button. The button on the left shoe will pause live TV when aimed at your DVR. The button on the right will place your pizza delivery.

Once that button is pushed you will get a notification on your phone to confirm your order. If you want to speed up the process you can also upload your address and payment information to avoid entering it every time the craving strikes.

Pizza Hut says this is clearly a marketing strategy to generate buzz for the company even if no one actually buys a pair. Now that’s functional fashion.
