Online Shopping

Online shopping provides a boost for many business–but only if you check out.

You know the drill. You visit your favorite store’s website, fill your cart and leave the site before clicking buy. According to entrepreneur.com, this is a big problem for businesses. In 2016, the average cart abandonment rate was 76%. Last year, it was up to 79%.

To help companies out, entrepreneur.com put together a list of five reasons people leave their items behind. For example, unexpected shipping costs. How many times have you filled the cart, then discovered it will cost another $25 to get your goodies to your house? Instead of hiding extra costs, business should include them in the original price, so no room for surprises.

Another mistake–forcing people to create an account. Allow them to check out as guests if they’re not ready to make the commitment. You’re still getting your money. For more mistakes businesses make: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/354111

Most people want to spend money–just don’t give them a reason not to.
