The government is offering certain companies the chance to upgrade their office space. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

The U.S. Coast Guard has decided it no longer needs four of its most picturesque lighthouses. So, it’s allowing certain organizations to take them over and enjoy killer views. They include the Beavertail lighthouse in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The Watch Hill Light also in Rhode Island and not far from a home owned by Taylor Swift. Cleveland Harbor West Pierhead Light in Ohio and Duluth North Pierhead Light in Minnesota. The government says it will make the historic lighthouses and their outbuildings available free to federal, state and local agencies, nonprofits, educational and community development agencies or any groups dedicated to parks or preserving history. Groups that meet the criteria can express their interest in the next few months and the national park service will review the applications. Some lighthouses are on the national register of historic places and date back to the birth of the country. Plus, all of them offer beach front views. Might be a way to entice people into coming back to the office. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
