Netflix  could be getting more expensive. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Chances are you use a Netflix account, and may not be paying for it. Instead, you’re doing what a lot of people are, and sharing passwords. For example, kids might continue using their parents’ password even after they’ve moved out. Or friends and former roommates will share passwords even if they don’t live in the same state. While this wasn’t exactly allowed, Netflix didn’t seem to mind, until now. Obviously, people sharing passwords and not having their own account is costing Netflix a lot of money and it might be time to cash in. They tried this once by requiring a two-factor authentication text message sent to the account owner to keep watching. People got around that by asking the account owner for the code. Now the company is testing a new feature that will prompt account owners who share their password to pay about three bucks for an additional user. If you don’t want to pay you can transfer that person to their own account. Suddenly password sharing isn’t fun when you’re actually paying for it. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
