What motivates you? This question is common during the interview process and can often cause an uncomfortable silence and an awkward answer. For example, if you are motivated by working with others and interacting with people then you would do well in a retail position. But if you are motivated by data and numbers, you are a better fit for a back-office job focusing on spreadsheets. So how do you answer? According to TheLadders.com, provide job-related examples and let your personality shine. Be very aware of what the job is which will help you come up with an answer. Don’t lie about what motivates you, because you will end up miserable. Don’t ramble, keep your answer to the point and avoid details about your personal life. You will spend a lot of your time there.
