Chipotle is boosting its minimum wage but not just in paychecks. I’m Brian Banmiller on business.

The Mexican grill will now offer eligible employees the chance to earn a college degree. And the best part, it’s debt free. After clocking in 120 days employees can pursue degrees from universities that include the University of Arizona, the University of Denver and Oregon State University. But with one catch, there are only a handful of fields of study to choose from. That includes agriculture. According to the department of agriculture there are six times more farmers age sixty-five and older than thirty-four and younger. That poses a problem for the future of small and mid-sized farms. Or there’s culinary and hospitality where you can gain hands-on experience improving your cooking skills. And finally supply chain degrees designed to help employees pursue a career in areas that interest them. This program is in addition to one already offered where Chipotle will reimburse tuition up to fifty-two hundred dollars per year in qualifying programs. The company explained its dedication to helping employees be successful. Talk about a job perk. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
