Million Dollar Masks

Masks are this season’s hottest accessory–and the competition for who wears it best is getting out of hand.

Business and designers were quick to jump on the make bandwagon and roll out facial coverings with patterns, logos and designer labels. Now, one Israeli jewelry company is going to the next level. The company is rolling out 18K white gold masks decorated with 3600 white and black diamonds, fitted with top-of-the-line filters.

Asking price for the gold and diamond encrusted protective gear–$1.5 million.

The company owner says the buyer, who is a Chinese businessman living in America, wanted it ready by the end of the year. He also said he wanted his mask to be the most expensive in the world, a stipulation the company said was easy to meet.

The jewelry maker says the mask will bring plenty of attention. But there is a downside–the mask weighs just over a half pound. So, while it might look good, it’s not ideal to wear on your face.

Not good on your wallet, either.
