It might be hard to know if you’re making the right decision, especially if you can’t make one. I’m Brian Banmiller on business.

No matter how high or low you are on the totem pole, chances are at some point you are forced to make a decision. But as you get more responsibility and your title becomes fancier, you might find it harder to make a decision. So how do you make a move when the stakes are high? According to FastCompany there are ten principles to help you make the right call. For example, be kind. There is a big difference between being kind and being nice. Firing someone is not nice and it’s a hard decision to make but it can be considered a kind move if they are not right for the role and firing them helps them find a better position. Another tip, be honest. Everything comes back to you, so protect your reputation and never lose your integrity. Even if it costs you employees or business. For more decision-making tips go to BanmillerOnBusiness.com. And don’t be afraid to act. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
