Love and Employment

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Does your day job overlap with your love life? Here’s how to keep your heart and your bank account in one piece.

It’s not unusual for a little romance to start among the cubicles in your office space. But if that relationship continues to evolve, things can get a little messy. So if your co-worker has become your roommate, bed buddy or spouse, Smart Money Squad has some tips for keeping things professional.

For example, don’t bring work home; set boundaries between work and non-work. If you have a home office, keep work issues to that space, everywhere else is your home and should be treated as such.

Next, respect your spouse’s authority. You might be equal colleagues or you might not, but regardless of who falls where on the totem pole treat each other like you would any other co-worker. This saves a lot of unnecessary tension or arguments that could follow you home.

For more tips on maintaining a work home balance when your work and home overlap, read the full list of tips now. All’s fair in love and employment.
