Looking For A Job? You Better Look The Part

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Looking for a job? You better look the part.

There are many things to consider in a job interview; what questions to ask, what answers to give and apparently how you look.

Recently J.D. Power surveyed almost two thousand people on how they prepared for a job interview over the past year. Of that number eighty six percent say that appearing physically attractive is a top priority. It’s so important that more than half thought they were passed up for a job because of how they presented themselves.

Ladders.com broke the numbers down further and found the top appearance concerns for women were weight, clothing, too little makeup, looking too sexual and frumpiness. For men their biggest concerns were clothing, weight, looking frumpy, looking too sexual and looking too masculine.

The survey also found people used looks to their advantage. One out of five admitted flirting during the interview, with more men than women guilty of doing so. Overall, eighty percent of people say they are more concerned about appearing competent than likable, so maybe worry about dressing up your resume.
