Holiday Hoopla
Listen Now: Holiday Hoopla
Like it or not the holiday season is here, and for one Florida family the early celebration is going to cost them. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
On the same day President Biden pardoned two turkeys from the Thanksgiving dinner table, the capitol was putting up its Christmas tree. The popular Rockefeller tree that stands in New York City is being put together and the Macy’s store windows are lit up. A lot of people say it’s too much too soon and that Christmas was being rolled out before kids had even started trick-or-treating. But others say they are more than ready to start being merry and bright. That includes the Moffa family in South Florida. On November 6th they hired a company to decorate the outside of their house and yard. Days later they received a letter that the decorations violated their homeowners association agreement. So, they’re facing fines of up to $100 a day, up to $1,000. They say they didn’t know it was against the rules and have no plans to take down the lights. Turns out it was a neighbor that complained, every Christmas needs a grinch. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
