A suspected burglar in California has been vindicated. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
Recently the State Department of Fish and Wildlife in Lake Tahoe had been on the hunt for a 500 pound bear nicknamed Hank the tank. He was suspected of being responsible for more than 100 break-ins at homes in the area. Homeowners reported damage and stolen food. No injuries reported because in most cases whenever the bear was startled it usually ran away. Because of the repeated break-ins and amount of damage reported, state fish and wildlife were looking for hank to euthanize him. But now, his name has been cleared. Thanks to DNA testing at some of the homes, it turns out Hank is not one giant bear but three still on the larger size bears. Now state fish and wildlife is looking to trap and tag the animals before releasing them in an area with less people and homes. They say it’s dangerous for the bears and the humans when the large animals aren’t afraid to break in and take whatever it desires. Looks like this crime spree might have a happier ending.
