DoorDash is trying to give back, but not everyone is happy about it. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Starting this month, DoorDash is bringing back its WeDash program. The program has been around since the company began, in an effort to address hunger and food waste. It’s been on hold for the past year because of the pandemic. The program calls for every employee from software engineers up to the chief executive to work on the customer service or merchant side once a month. This could be making a delivery, taking a service call or shadowing another employee. But according to MarketWatch.com DoorDash employees are taking their feelings online. On one app that lets employees post anonymously, a thread was started titled “DoorDash making engineers deliver food.” Besides a lot of swearing, there are also statements about how people didn’t sign up for this, and that there was nothing in the offer letter or job description about this. DoorDash says the program is to help employees understand the challenges the company faces and help fix them. Like it or not. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
