Board game makers are looking for a seal of approval, from some of the smartest minds in the world. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Over the past few days, the American MENSA Mind Games event was held at a hotel in South Portland, Maine. This is where a select group of people tested new board games. Of the 65 submitted for evaluation, five will be chosen for the “Mensa Select” seal of approval. Past winners include trivial pursuit and taboo. Mensa is a social club with members who have IQ’s in the top2% of the public, as judged by accepted tests. Right now, the group has more than 50,000 members in the country. And it’s a mixed group. This year’s bunch of geniuses includes an accountant, librarian, merchant mariner, professional poker player, and a store clerk. And for most of them, the three-day event is all about the intellectual stimulation and fun. One woman says her goal is to forget about what’s happening in the world and just play board games. Another man from Georgia calls it the perfect vacation. Guess you can sight-see another time. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
