Wondering if you made a good first impression, science has the answer. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

You might know how to impress people at your first meet and greet but that doesn’t mean it’s working. However, according to inc.com there are some surefire ways to get your answer. For example, is the person smiling and laughing? Just make sure it’s genuine, a loud fake laugh may not be a good sign. Notice if they’re holding eye contact. Eyes are usually the first indication that other person is thinking about somewhere they would rather be. How close are they standing? Researchers say physical proximity is a clear indicator of likability. Just beware of personal space. Another sign, if you’re talking to someone and they move to another conversation without prompt. This means they are enjoying talking to you and want to continue. Finally, notice if they mimic some of your nonverbal expressions. This means they understand the emotions you’re experiencing and the connection is that much deeper. So the next time you meet someone, pay attention to find out if there will be a next time.
