You might not be able to leave your house… but that doesn’t mean you can’t travel.

While people shelter in place, planes are staying on the ground, hotels are empty and tour buses are sitting in parking lots. So, to help you get outside countries are launching virtual tourism, featuring some of the world’s most well-known sites.

Greece is the latest country to find a new way to get visitors. Now you can go to Greece from home.com, and take a virtual tour of the acropolis, fly over island beaches, listen to greek music and learn about local food.

On a YouTube channel linked to the website you can hear national opera singers perform from home and get tips from a wine expert. While the virtual visits don’t bring in actual money to the country it keeps interest peaked. Before the coronavirus shut down the world Greece was finally turning the page after years of a bad economy.

The country’s leaders are hoping they can get people back to the country, just as soon as those planes start taking off.
