Uber Eats is cutting back on your cravings. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Uber Eats is looking to remove 5,000 of its online storefronts, covering about 13% of all virtual brands across the country. The problem is the app is getting bogged down by restaurants listing multiple delivery options for the same menu, but under different names. Basically, restaurant owners are setting up a virtual concept within its existing brick and mortar restaurant. So, according to the wall street journal, some examples of the cut back include 12 virtual brands selling the same breakfast burrito from a Colorado sports bar being dropped. As well as 14 brands serving the same sandwiches from a New York City deli. According to Uber Eats, hungry users are basically seeing 12 versions of the same menu on the app, which does not do much for consumer confidence. The company will require that more than half of a virtual brand’s menu is different from its parent restaurant and any other brands from the same kitchen. No more messing with people who have an empty stomach. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
