It’s a time of strangers helping strangers… even if those strangers have four legs.
A traveling Czech circus has been stranded in Latvia and unable to return home since the middle of March. Stuck in a strange country with nothing else to do the owners sent out a plea for help on social media. Besides themselves, the circus also had to feed its animals which included horses, goats and llamas.
Since that plea, the response has been overwhelming. Circus owners say the day before the show was to begin a ban on public events was put in place and shortly after that the borders were shut down. Luckily a lot of performers were able to get out and return home, but the owners refused to leave their animals.
Besides food, strangers stepped in and offered shelter for the animals. Funds have also been raised for the owners to cover utility costs for the circus. The owner says once restrictions are lifted, she will be offering free performances to express her gratitude.
The show must go on… sometimes it just needs a little help.
