Have a love of fine art, head to your nearest casino. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Hoping to expand their appeal beyond those who enjoy slot machines and the 24 hour buffet, some casinos are expanding into the art world. Recently the Atlantic City Hard Rock Casino began displaying the exhibit “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience.” The 30,000 square foot display uses more than three hundred Van Gogh’s works, produces them digitally and projects them onto screens, walls, and floors. The exhibit’s Art Historian says the point of this trend is to bring people in. She says some people find museums intimidating so this helps them explore and experience art in a comfortable setting. And the Hard Rock isn’t alone. The Bellagio gallery of fine art in Las Vegas has displayed pieces by Picasso, Monet, and Warhol. MGM’s Aria Resort, the Palms Casino Resort, and the Hippodrome Casino in London  are also turning to displays of famous art to bring people in the door. In London they’re even doing a competition for local artists to be displayed there. Let’s see if this is a business jackpot. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
