Elvis might be heading back to the chapel. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Recently there were reports that chapels in Las Vegas would need to put a stop to Elvis themed weddings. Obviously, a big business for Sin City. It all started when Authentic Brands Group, which runs the elvis brand, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Vegas chapels. The backlash was immediate. People who rely on the gimmick as their livelihood said it would pretty much end their career. One man who works at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel said they were getting dozens of calls from couples concerned that their dream wedding was going to be canceled. Now it appears that Authentic Brands Group is willing to partner up with the chapels that use the Elvis brand. According to local reports a lawyer representing several chapels said the company will allow the Elvis impersonators if the chapel pays an annual fee. The company itself released a statement apologizing for any confusion and saying it was never its intention to shut anyone down. It says it is now working with all the chapels. It looks like people were all shook up over nothing. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
