The Girl Scouts are taking their business plan to new heights. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Christiansburg, Virginia is now ground zero for a new way to deliver Girl Scouts cookies. Teaming up with a Google affiliate the Girl Scouts are using drones to get their thin mints to your doorstep. The company named Wing says it started talking to Girl Scouts troops because they were having a hard time selling cookies during the pandemic. Not as many people are out and about and many are hesitant to approach their tables outside stores and in shopping areas. A member of the troop putting the drones to the test says she is excited to be part of history. She says people like the new service because they can just walk outside in their pajamas and get their cookies. The drones are powered by two forward propellers on their wings and twelve smaller vertical propellers. When it reaches its destination, it hovers above the front lawn as a tether releases to drop the package. Unfortunately for all you big city cookie monsters out there, this service is mainly for the suburbs. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
