Banksy is headed back to the auction block, but still not in one piece. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

Three years ago the picture “Girl with Balloon” sold at Sotheby’s.  But at the moment of sale a hidden shredder in the frame sprung to life leaving the canvas hanging from the frame in strips. The buyer still decided to buy it, and will soon know if that was a good decision. That same shredded piece of art is going up for sale in London next month. Now called “Love is in the Bin” the pre-sale price is between five and eight million dollars. At least four times what the original buyer paid for it. The chairman of Modern and Contemporary Art for Sotheby’s says when the painting self-destructed in the sale room it created one of the most spectacular artistic events of the twenty-first century. The shredded painting is a true icon of art history. Before it goes on sale the painting will go on public display in London, Hong Kong, and New York. Not bad for an image originally stenciled on a wall in East London. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
