Homes can be hard to sell, especially when they’re haunted. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
The conjuring is a horror movie franchise telling the story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Now the Rhode Island home that inspired the first movie just sold for $1.5 million, $300,000 over the asking price. The house was built by a Boston developer who plans to keep it open to the public. The new buyer will also continue the paranormal business started by the previous owners. That includes nightly paranormal investigations of the eighteenth-century home, day tours, and live streamed events. The previous owners will also continue to be involved with future events. The movies were based on the events of the 1970’s when the family that lived there say they were plagued with ten years of spooky activity. According to Forbes, one of the children reported always getting along with the various spirits but became scared when she saw what was happening to her mom and siblings. Sounds like this house might be much better as a tourist attraction than a place to live. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
