There’s a warning out about buying baked beans. But probably not for the reason you think. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

There’s a problem in a town in England known as “Beaning.” It’s a trend that started on TikTok and involves taking baked beans and smearing them across people’s driveways, doors and cars. The prank is filmed and uploaded to the social media site. Now, police are warning supermarket workers about children buying large amounts of baked beans. Parents are also being asked to check their cupboards and question their kids if anything is missing. Police are comparing the act to throwing eggs at properties which can be destructive. And it’s not just a mess and pain to clean up. Animal experts are issuing a warning of their own about how harmful baked beans can be to dogs. The beans are high in sugar and fat levels which can lead to health problems. If the beans are old or become moldy and eaten by a dog it can lead to seizures or prove to be fatal. Supermarkets might have to start locking up their supply of beans. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
