Facebook is in danger of losing its closest friend, itself. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

According to thousands of internal Facebook documents provided to congress, Facebook is losing control of its own product. The documents, provided by a former employee, show numerous examples of where researchers or employees uncovered problems that were then overlooked or ignored by the company. At the center of the whole issue is CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who is described as ruling similar to a dictator. Right now, Zuckerberg holds the majority of the company’s voting shares, controls its board of directors and according to critics, surrounds himself with people who don’t question his decisions. But the company is facing a variety of problems. For example, young people no longer seem to be interested. What started as a site exclusively for college students is now seen by the younger generation as a place for their parents. There’s allegations the company is aware of the mental health dangers it poses to young women and did nothing to help. And now allegations of a corrupt company from a whistleblower.
