Listen Now: How To Hack Your Network on The Post-COVID Job Hunt
[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]
Want to land your dream job? Hack your network, even if it’s currently non-existent.
Finding and getting the job you want means more than spell checking your resume and filling out the application. While those help, it’s no longer enough to get your foot in the door.
Fortunately, you’re surrounded by things that are. According to the job resource site Ladders.com, there are five networking hacks that will connect you to the company you want.
For example, tap into friends and family. Reach out to people and see if they know anyone in the industry where you’re trying to get a job. An introduction through a mutual friend is always better than an email that might never find its target.
Another option? Reach out to employees of the company you are interested in through social media. Tell them you’re thinking about applying and ask what they think of the company. Opening up a dialogue could get you inside information and an inside contact.
For more networking hacks, check out the original article now. And you should still spellcheck your resume.
