The Workplace Diet: 56% of Americans Eat Poorly On The Clock

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Can’t drop those last few pounds? Blame your day job.

Let’s face it, we spend most of our time at work. Whether it’s behind a desk, delivering packages or traveling the world our job takes up most of our day. So it makes sense that during that time we are stuffing our face, and that’s the problem.

According to a new Harris Poll survey fifty six percent of working Americans have a hard time eating on the clock. Some reasons behind the indulgence include stress, a lack of time or because your co-workers are ordering McDonalds so you throw in a request for a burger and fries.

Of those surveyed eighty two percent agreed that having healthier options at work is important and sixty eight percent would like to see their employers make that happen. Unfortunately, most of the options available are cafeteria or vending machine food, not really known for nutritional value.

When it comes to who is more likely to fall off the wagon more often, younger people are eating worse because it’s easy and cheap. Maybe consider brown bagging it.
