For most of your life you were probably told to put your head down and keep grinding. But that might not be the best advice to make the most of your career. According to public relations experts there are ten lessons you should take to make sure you are not wasting your time and energy.
For example; social networks matter. You might not be a fan of networking events, chatting with co-workers or even using social media. But multiple studies confirm that social networks are important for success. It’s not what you know but who you know that can get you places.
Another tip is to diversify. If you stick to what you know you will become very good at it, but it will be the only thing you have to offer. Plus if technology takes away your job you need to have something else to fall back on.
