Underpaid

by | Mar 24, 2018

UnderpaidEveryone wants more money, but how do you know if you deserve it?

According to a recent salary report from the job site Indeed, only 19% of American workers are comfortable with their salaries. Others surveyed said they would need to bring home an extra $6,000 to live comfortably. But for some of them, they actually deserve the extra income.

To help figure out where you land, MSN Money has put together a list of six signs that you are underpaid. For example, your co-workers are getting paid for doing the same job. Experts suggest writing down all the tasks you do, what you think you’re worth and then ask human resources for the range of salaries for your job. Then negotiate your way to the higher end of that range.

Another obvious sign is when your peers get promoted and you don’t. In this case schedule a meeting and ask for specifics in order to get promoted. To check out the full list, check out the original article on MSN Money.

The truth may be hard to hear, but it could pay off.
