Preparing for a Job Interview? Avoid This One Color

by | Jan 17, 2019

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Preparing for a job interview? Consider your wardrobe.

According to a report from CareerBuilder that talked to more than two thousand hiring managers, the worst color to wear to an interview is orange.

Apparently the color is most associated with unprofessionalism and can leave an unfavorable opinion behind. Instead experts say plan your outfit ahead of time. Go with something you’ve worn before and already feel great in so you have added confidence.

You should also try to figure out the general dress code of the company where you are applying, but remember when in doubt, it’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Another rule of thumb, if you can’t pick your favorite color go with neutral. Colors such as blue, black, gray or white suggest traits such as leadership, logic and dependability.

If you do want to add a pop of color to your outfit, choose one that accentuates your eyes. This helps grab the attention of the person you’re talking to and might help them remember you once you’re gone.

Often it’s the little things that count the most.
