Creepy Crawly Cuisine

Creepy Crawly CuisineConsider yourself a foodie? How about biting into a baked tarantula?

Bull City Burger and Brewery in North Carolina specializes in toppings that are a little unconventional. Recently, the restaurant featured a traditional burger topped with a full grown, oven-roasted tarantula.

The menu item made its debut after owner Seth Gross read about how they have become a street food staple in Cambodia. But the spider burger is not for everyone, and you have to be lucky enough to even score one. Gross says he only gets fifteen of the organically farmed spiders a year. So if you want a burger topped with a tarantula you need to fill out a lottery ticket. If your ticket is drawn they will give you a call and you can come claim your creepy crawly meal.

Winners have forty eight hours to buy the burger, and so far no one has backed out after catching a glimpse of the delicacy. In addition to spiders, gross has also served up burgers with iguana, alligator, python and camel meat.

And supposedly it all tastes like chicken.
