Listen Now: Before They Were World Leaders
Everybody has to start somewhere, and yes that includes the leaders of some of the most powerful countries in the world. So if you think your job flipping burgers isn’t going anywhere, MSN Money has put together a list of former jobs of world leaders to prove you wrong.
For example, before becoming president of Ireland, Michael Higgins was a waiter. Born into a poor family he served wine in England to raise enough money to go to school. He has also worked as a poet and writer of non-fiction. And Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church? Before he found his calling, he worked as a bouncer at a nightclub, a job he found after regularly going out dancing with friends. Former U.S. president Barack Obama worked as an ice cream scooper at Baskin Robbins before entering the world of politics.
