Tourists in Thailand are getting a little too generous with the wildlife and it’s affecting their waistlines. Last month pictures started circulating on social media of a morbidly obese monkey posing with tourists and scooping up the food and soda they leave behind. Now the monkey, who has been nicknamed Uncle Fat, has been caught and is being placed on a strict diet of lean protein, fruits and vegetables. Scientists say most of the monkeys like Uncle Fat usually weigh in at 20 pounds, but upon his capture Uncle Fat was tipping the scale at just over 60. Officials say it was hard to catch him because he was the leader of his pack. They say they had to fight off a flock of other monkeys with sticks in order to get Uncle Fat out of there and into captivity. Scientists say he is now in critical condition because he is facing a high risk of heart disease and diabetes. Looks like everyone is putting on a little vacation weight.Uncle Fat
