[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Hitting the road? Add saving money to your itinerary.

According to the U.S. Travel Association, fifty two percent of Americans did not use all their paid time off in 2017. Of that group, seventy one percent said cost was the reason. But thanks to our high-tech way of life there are now tools to get you on the road again.

To help you save money the travel website Outside Online put together some of the best apps for cheap travel. For example, Airhelp will get you compensated for the worst parts of air travel such as missed connections, lost baggage or canceled flights.

The app will scan your boarding pass and flight details to find out whether you’re owed money. It will also file a claim on your behalf and update you on its status.

Or there’s Hopper, an app that lets you see when flights will be the cheapest. Select the travel dates and it will tell you whether to book now or wait.
