[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]The summer travel season is in full swing, but with laws dealing with some of your must-have accessories changing, how do you know what to pack?
California, Colorado and Washington D.C. are just a few of the places where recreational marijuana is now legal. So as people prepare to travel to and from these areas, the question is, how can you legally mix weed with hitting the road?
First, if you’re boarding a plane, leave all your drugs at home. Even if you’re flying within a state that allows it, air travel is under federal jurisdiction and marijuana use is still against federal law.
If your travel plans call for driving, things can get a little more confusing. For example, in California, adults 21 and over can travel with up to one ounce of marijuana, but you should keep it in a sealed container and you should not consume it while behind the wheel. Also, crossing any state border is a violation of federal law.
The business of legal recreational marijuana is a new one, so it might be best to play it straight.
