Tipless Waiter Returns $400K That Customer Left Behind

by | May 19, 2019

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]One New York waiter went above and beyond, even without a tip.

After waiting on a woman at an East Harlem restaurant, a waiter named Armando returned to pick up the check only to find she hadn’t left him a tip. But that wasn’t the only thing she left.

While he was cleaning the table Armando also found a bank envelope that was left behind. He ran out the door looking for the customer but she was already gone. So he opened the envelope and found a cashier’s check worth more than four hundred thousand dollars.

After an unsuccessful search the restaurant was unable to find the owner of the envelope so they turned to the daily news for help. Earlier this week, the woman was reunited with her hundreds of thousands of dollars. The money came from the recent sale of her apartment and was to be used for a down payment on a new home.

Since she hadn’t tipped Armando for the original meal she tried to offer some cash but he declined. Good thing he doesn’t hold a grudge.
