Listen Now: The Price To Party: UK Mom Sells Tickets To Son’s Birthday
[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]There are many ways to make a quick buck, charging people for an invite to your kid’s birthday party isn’t one of them.
Throwing a child’s birthday party can break the bank, but generally not for the guests. Recently a woman in Britain sparked outrage among her mom friends when she charged eighty-five dollars to attend her son’s go-kart party.
Why the fee? Twenty five dollars was for getting the kids where they needed to go, another twenty five was for a deposit and another thirty five was due the day of the party. No reason for that last charge was given.
And that’s not all. Instead of being able to pick something out for the birthday boy, the mom demanded that all presents be amazon gift cards.
And that’s still not all. According to one of her friends, on a mommy blog the day of the party she asked parents to pack a picnic lunch for their child. And to bring extra so the birthday boy, and his parents, don’t need to bring anything.
Pretty safe to say the guest list for next year could be short.
