Stinky Neighbors: German Women Fights Cheese Shop Next Door

It stinks having a bad neighbor. For one woman in Germany it’s a literal problem.

A woman who lives above a cheese shop says she is fed up with the smell wafting into her home. She says the odor of cheese finds its way in from the windows, the staircase, even electric sockets. So she posted stickers with a nose and a warning sign.

The owner of the cheese shop didn’t appreciate the implication so took it to a judge, saying it was hurting the business. The judge agreed and the woman is no longer able to post the stickers. However, she can still walk around town complaining because as the judge ruled, she is entitled to her opinion. But that didn’t end things.

The woman is still fed up with the smell and trying to shut the business down. And the owner of the cheese shop is accusing her of hiding old cheese behind a fuse box to create a smell she can blame on him.

Sounds like what they really need is a loaf of bread and a good bottle of wine.
